Katamari Damacy is a Japanese video game that was released in 2004. The soundtrack includes many original and interesting tracks, combining elements of chanted vocals, jazz, retro video game soundtrack sounds, many synths, electro, and extremely catchy melodies. It is largely the work of Yu Miyake. The songs are fairly simple, but at the same time are fresh and fun; they are something decidedly different to your everyday listen. The fact that many of the lyrics are Japanese doesn't hinder the songs in the slightest.
