A Tape Worm

ZZT, who are Tiga & Zombie Nation, hit back harder this time with "The Worm". After their debut collaberation "Lower State of Consciousness" was thrashed to hell and back by Justice; hit producer and DJ, Erol Alkan turns The Worm into a rolling wheel of granite; it rolls to hell and back... twice.

The track has been thrown around by Erol himself along with Stephen and David Dewaele as 2 Many Dj's and although there is no official word on the release date from Turbo Recordings, but rumours are that it is being released very soon. Remember to buy it digitally or, even better, the 12".

Parklife, Melbourne - 2008

Tonight- Yuksek

Tonight - Yuksek

Yuksek playing his new single "Tonight." Throughout the set Pierre-Alexandre Busson looked slightly frustrated, probably due to his mic not working for half the set.

Phantom Pt.II (Soulwax Nite Version) - Justice

Soulwax

Soulwax were absolutely amazing, they played their versions of Robot Rock, Phantom Pt. II and also the track with the lyrics "Do you know where your teenager is at five o' clock in the morning? Some say they come looking drugs, dirty dancing, and pounding, pounding techno music. It's 5AM do you know where your children are? Well things have changed, today the question for parents is it's 10AM, do you know where your children are?"

Kids (Soulwax Nite Version) - MGMT

The Worm (Erol Alkan Remix) - ZZT

Mind Dimension - Tiga

2 Many Dj's were also superb, dropping tracks new and old, from the Soulwax Nite Version of MGMT's Kids to tracks such as Tiga's "Mind Dimension" and ZZT's "The Worm".

The Bears Are Coming

Late of the Pier released their "The Bears are Coming" single on the 3rd of March of this year. Treated to remixes by the chilled out Emperor Machine, the wacky Beyond the Wizards Sleeve, and the cut-up genius that is Joakim. Having Erol Alkan producing their album would have been quite useful, as he has done wonderful jobs on both Fantasy Black Channel and also Mystery Jet's "Twenty One".

Also a treat from their producer was the BTWS remix; which is Erol Alkan himself and Richard Norris.

You probably know Joakim from his famous remix of Hearts on Fire, but he shines through once again with this insanely twisted remix of "The Bears are Coming". He completely shakes up the bass line, the melody and Samuel Dust's singing. Though some might be turned off by the distracting rhythm, he turns it into a crazy, yet thumping, killer of a track.

The first taste of Late of the Pier, who are coming to the Falls Festival in Lorne this December.
